All Power to the Soviets, not the party
1 March 2011: 90th anniversary of the town of Kronstadt.
On 1 March 1921 the sailors of the Baltic fleet, the garrison and workers of Kronstadt revolt ousted the dictatorship of the Bolshevik workers' power is built through the Soviets during the Russian Revolution.
After 18 days of fighting, the Commune is suppressed by the Red Army led by Trotsky.
The period in which they moved the Kronstadt uprising is very sensitive to the Soviet revolution: the strengthening of the Bolshevik dictatorship goes hand in hand with the stifling of on production and workers' power in society: in a few days it takes the X Congress of the Bolshevik Party, to launch the New Economic Policy, reintroducing elements of capitalism instead of "war communism."
Bolshevik dictatorship, repression of the labor movement and capitalist restoration are three elements that go hand in hand despite the defeat, the Kronstadt sailors and workers to impose a stop to all this and hamper the restoration of capitalism in Russia, which will have to wait many years.
